Online meeting appointment types

Set your meeting type to "online" and AppointmentGuru will take care of all the online meeting admin

Before you start:

Create (or update) an "online" appointment type:

  1. From the side menu, choose "locations" -> expand the relevant location, scroll down to appointment types:
  2. In the table of appointment types, you will see a column called "online"
  3. Click on a row to edit it
  4. Check the checkbox for online
  5. Save

Congratulations! You have just made an online appointment type.

Next steps

Experiment with the functionality. Try create an appointment for yourself to see how it works:

  1. Click the blue plus button (bottom right) -> new appointment
  2. Choose the appointment type that we just edited above
  3. Choose yourself as the client
  4. Choose a time 1 day and a few minutes ahead of the current time (optional, but this way you will get your reminder in a few moments as well as the confirmation)
  5. Fill in the other fields and click "create appointment"

You appointment will be created the same as it usually is. However, when you view your appointment (for example, on the calendar) you will notice that it has the headset icon - this means that it is an online appointment.

If you click "go to appointment" to view the appointment detail page, you will notice there is some extra information there.

In particular, we have:

  • The meeting join url - which you can share with the client
  • A button to start the meeting (which you can click when it's time)
  • And a link to edit the meeting in Zoom.

You will also notice that your confirmation and reminder messages include the join url so as to make it nice and easy for your clients to have all the information they need about your appointment.
